Dr. Insung Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He received his Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering in 2022 from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. He received his M.S.E. in Architectural Engineering in 2017 and B.S.E. in Architectural Engineering in 2015, both from Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Korea. His interdisciplinary research interests lie at the intersection of building energy and environmental systems, air quality, energy efficiency, and occupant health and well-being, within the built environment. He teaches AREN 4331 Building HVAC Systems Design.
Minseok Kim is a Ph.D. student in Architectural Engineering at UTA. He is working on indoor and outdoor air quality measurements and analysis. He is also interested in building energy modeling (e.g., OpenStudio). He joined BEH in 2024 after earning his B.S. and M.E. in Architectural Engineering at Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, Korea. He has past experience with building energy, renewable energy, and green retrofits. He is also co-advised under Dr. Park.
Rafi Uddin is a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at UTA. He is working on developing low-cost air quality monitoring sensors and air quality and health data analysis. He joined BEH in 2024 after earning his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has past experience with indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring and microplastic removal strategies and techniques in wastewater.
